skylark

I’ve to say 10 years ago, I never understood why Sheila Majid (Dato’ ) voice was so unique and she was a big huha by a certain quartered of people in Malaysia. But after listening to Renee Olstead my perception towards Jazz and Sheila Majid suddenly change.
Back in 2004, I went to my regular CD shop; Victoria Music Store at Amcorp Mall and one particular song was played at that time (I think the shop owner was testing a CD bought by one Mak Datin lady).
The voice was so mesmerise till I had to ask her who was the singer and she ask me back; Have you ever watch a sitcom Still Standing?
Yup, Still Standing was one of my regular Monday night sitcom on StarWorld at that time and she told me the actress who played the daughter sing that song.
I give her my sarcastic face since that girl was like 15 years old at least; no way she can sing a song like that and she showed me the CD cover; yeah, it was that girl and her name was Renee Olstead.
So I thought since I had no other choices, why not get it. I bought the CD and after a couple of times played it, I fall in love with all the song in her self-title album.
After that, my song choices kind turn from Britney Spears to Diana Krall immediately.
In 2007, I heard she’s going to release her second album but unfortunately it was never happen.
Early this year, her recording company press out that they going to release her latest album in summer ’08. Now is already Fall; I’m not sure what happen why haven’t they releases that.
Yesterday, I stumble to this song; I’m sure it was supposedly her first single title ‘Skylark’ and it’s also the probably her second album title.
It’s beautiful, hopefully they will get this out on radio soon!
