Comments on: between culture or religion – which is right for art?

Pinky, yeah – sometimes.. some western country couldn’t differentiate this & try to label certain religion with certain culture/race – but can’t blame them – sometimes we, asian do the same for them.

Funny fact is, last week my American friend visited me – and to his surprise – he was shock that why all muslim woman here wearing kind of so colorful dress – with big flower and glittering all over the head scarf;

and he ask? are they muslim? I thought muslim woman should wear something like earth tone.

The best answer I give to him was, welcome to Malaysia, the land where muslim women look like a picasso painting

Wawa,
culture & religion are 2 different things that can be illustrated differently by arts as long as the painter aware of the sensitivity of both.
