Biasanya tidak semua perkara yang kita rancang akan berlaku. Mungkin kerana nasib belum lagi menyebelahi apa yang kita hendakkan.

Namun, jangan pula kita persoalkan hati dan perasaan ini, entah mengapa, apa yang selalu kita mahu bukan milik kita jua akhirnya.

Mungkin lebih baik kita lepaskan saja…

Walaupun semua ini tidak adil bagi kita, maka tidak adil juga untuk kita bertanya jika kita akan mencintai.

Sometimes we’re living in vain just to proves that we’re living in pain.

A few weeks back during a small talk amongst friend, someone pop a bold statement – Facebook is good especially when we’re lonely – and its struck me till today.

Thus it’s true what he said, is Facebook just for lonely people?

I remember when communication between two people who apart between each other was totally depending on a stamp and envelope – the feeling of ‘I miss you’ feel so much more meaningful. People write to each other to share their loneliness in words that mesmerize your heart, and the excitement to see each other grows every time you heard the sound of postman’s bike.

Then, the world change – come Facebook!

When loneliness is just a submit button away, looking for a new friend was pushed to you on your Newsfeed wall, dedicated a song just a link to share and the word ‘I miss you’ was like a techno jargon that in minutes – thousand of people around the world posted ‘I miss you’ on Facebook!

What has happened to ‘I miss you’?

I spent my time on Facebook almost more than 12 hours a day, I have 3 accounts on Facebook, my works requires me to be on Facebook and I don’t think I’m the only one on that ship. Most of us plug into Facebook no longer because it’s a place where most of our friends are there but more likely bcoz Facebook is our new ‘religion’.

Why?

When we practices thing in routine – the action we do is become part of our ‘religion’ – you asked for forgiveness from someone on Facebook, you depress – you posted on Facebook, you eat – you upload photo on Facebook and even now – you can check-in on certain places – you place it on Facebook for people to know.

Is that not religion? Does any of your religion requires you to do that?

… only Facebook ‘religion’ makes you voluntarily to do that but why in the first place people ‘converted’ to Facebook religion?

Loneliness comes in many shape nowadays and when we are missing something – something more than things we can touch, taste or see – something which are more sacred and when God is so vague lately and the only place you able to get an answers in a push notification – Facebook is your church of Mecca.

Today, if you’re on Facebook – we’re just two of many lonely people.

I was flipping thru magazine during my flight from London over the weekend and I saw these few ads by famous brands like LV, Prada, Hermes, Salvatone Ferragamo and many others.

Then I look at myself?

Hmmm… somehow – it wasn’t me!

I was never a fan of the big label - I guess maybe I never knew how to wear these branded items. Some people said only some people can look good wearing those items and probably I could try wear one and look good.

Most of the time, I just wear which ever look nice on the rack and wear it either it’s cap ayam or cap buaya hijau – I really don’t care. If it’s fit me well and it’s nice to look at, I’m buying it. But would people judge you on what brand you’re wearing?

Perhaps yes, if you’re flying on 1st class – but do a person need to dress so brand-friendly so then, people would see them high above the sky with full of admiration.

Somehow – it wasn’t me!

To me a sate on the 1st class is still a sate – same like the one you eat on the side of the road in Kajang. Just it was served high on the sky.

Having many friends who are well success in their own field of works – sometimes you’ll see – their branded items. Surprisingly – I tried myself a couple of time – with a mission – ‘let see if I can do this’ – I went to a couple of them – browsing thru – at the end – I’m still out empty handed – as usual.

Not bcoz I can’t afford to own it but I can’t afford to like something that I don’t like doing it.

Somehow – it wasn’t me!

Factory outlet still work the best for me, I guess – perhaps a reject shop! But, I don’t think we should look bad on people who brand conscious – there’s nothing wrong with it – if u can afford it – it’s free world for you to look good.

At the end of the day, someone heart can’t be judge on what they dress with. All of us born without a dress and will put to rest with just a white cloth.

So, love someone bcoz of their heart and not how they dress on or travel on the 1st class.

A dress – branded or not – people don’t really care anymore nowadays. They just want to wrap their heart with it.

Which… somehow for now – it still wasn’t mine!

Love is so fluid and unpredictable sometimes when it’s dry you can feel the drought forecast over you and when it’s all over you, the pressure is so overwhelming, it’s become a thunderstorm of love.

Have you watch the new most memorable (*cough) Aidilfitri TV advertisement/iklan by Media Prima tv channel – TV3.

It’s like adaptation straight from a short story by Hans Christian Andersen – but slightly injected with 1Malaysia propaganda.

It’s just so wrong in many places.

Let go frame by frame (to understand the concept)

A boy (Look like Wendy Darling of Peter Pan) alone at home (very poor – coz the roof made of nipah – probably somewhere in Penang) reading a story book (in Jawi if you close up) on the eve of Hari Raya and suddenly the book magically turn the picture of ‘Beca’ into real life thing (Cinderella) and comes the Santa Claus with a kopiah gesturing the boy to join him (probably celebrate Aidilfitri at a better place).

Then the magical sleigh (beca) flying next and above the Penang Bridge, Menara Condong Teluk Intan, KLCC Twin Tower and Jalan Raja Chulan traffic junction – before that, they stop by a few houses and pick other childrens too (Peter Pan again).

Those landmark started to light up when the sleigh passes by – probably to show that ‘kegembiraan‘ celebrating Aidilfitri.

After that, you can see the famous tree of UPM next to the huge moon (It’s the ET scene) – they sort of going to a better place – (from Penang – to Perak – stop in KL – maybe Gunung Ledang?)

Suddenly out of the sky comes the majestic mosque on top of mountain – like the land of Arda of the Elves in the Lord of the Ring trilogy.

Above the hill, family members and the habitant of the land of ‘TV3′ gather together preparing for Hari Raya and there’s flying lotus with bahulu, lampu pelita, the magic ‘ketupat’ and ‘kacau-ing’ dodol inside the big lotus.

It’s end with firework on the sky and everybody happily ever after.

I didn’t get it!

What’s the essence creative director of this ads want to deliver in the first place (I heard they said it’s like kids fantasy)?

Does he/she want to convey that there are a lot of TV programme during Hari Raya for kids to spend their time in front of tv?

I’m sure TV3 will pulled this out but for a such thing to happen in this country and from a leading TV channel in Malaysia – it’s such a shame for Media Prima corporate comms.

It’s like watching an ads made by someone who didn’t know what Islam is – or religion sensitivity (at least)?

Bottom line is religion celebration is not a fairy tale, guys!

Someone should get fired!
