I’m not justifying either this manifestation is a Quran based thing to do or just a Malay custom code of conduct but if we didn’t act fast some part of us will be gone soon.

As the Prophet [s] said, ‘To whomsoever a child is born, and he wants to perform the sacrifice of aqiqa on behalf of it, he should sacrifice two goats for a boy and one goat for a girl.’

However, aqiqa is not obligatory, but is recommended. In the same way it is not necessary to sacrifice two goats for a male child.

Later on, the Akikah feast have to be distributed to the poor people around the village. 

According to Sunnah, the Prophet (s) also has done the same thing on the seventh day of his grandchild, Hasan & Husin.

On the day, a newborn children have to be shaved his/her head and also must be given a name.

Every hair shaved from the newborn children’s head have to be measured using the value of a silver.

Islam encourage us to shave the baby hair till it’s bald so all the dirtiness from the mother’s womb would be clean and its may grows a new healthy hair.

Also on this seventh day, narrated by Ayesha [ra] that ‘people used to bring their newborn children to the Prophet, and he would bless them and perform the ceremony of tahnik.

Tahnik is a manifestations of the deep devotion by applying on its palate, the pulp of a date etc. The date or any sweet thing should be chewed to make it easier for the baby to swallow.

From this we learn that when a child is born in a Muslim home, it should be taken to a god-fearing person to receive his blessings and have the tahnik done.

It’s one of the Sunnah.

To our ignorance it’s slowly could becomes extinct.

During last Hari Raya, I visited my aunty and she just got a new grandchild.

After Friday prayer, a group of villagers come with the Tok Imam to perform a Tahnik to this newborn child.

Sadly I realised both father and mother of the child was so ignorance and naives and didn’t know what to do.

Didn’t know that they have to shaved their baby head, didn’t know why it has to be done and even didn’t know how to cited marhaban too.

I’m totally blank!

I think our generation only knows how makes babies; either by banging on their bed or not, during day or night, or either inside or out;

Worse, back or front!

Possibly, only expert in shouting, tubik doh! (I’m cumming!). 

After the baby comes out, just let our parents do all the rest.

However, what would happen when they all gone and goes under the surface of the earth, what would happen when all the old folks around us gone?

Whose going to say you should do this and shouldn’t do that?

I’m speechless…

And most of us in every rest of the day ONLY think about the pleasure of having a f***ing good sex!
